Why your Get Paid account is blocked
Card network compliance requirements mean that all Get Paid users must provide verified business and ownership details before Melio can process payments on their behalf.
If you were using Get Paid before this requirement was introduced, you would have received a notification asking you to complete these details within a set timeframe.
If you didn't submit those details by the deadline, your account is now paused and any invoices and payment links you've shared with your customers are inactive.
This requirement applies to all Get Paid users. It's necessary to maintain compliant payment processing under card network rules.
How to restore access to your Get Paid account
You can complete the required details at any time from your Get Paid dashboard. There's no need to contact support to get started.
1- Select Get Paid in the left sidebar.
2- Select the Set up payments button on the banner at the top of your dashboard.
3- Select Confirm to verify your receiving bank account.
4- Enter your business details.
5- Enter your ownership details.
6- Review your entries and select Submit.
For detailed instructions, check out our guide on completing your Get Paid activation.
Your EIN (Employer Identification Number) won't be pre-filled. You'll need to enter it manually, even if it's already on file.
That's it! Completing your business details through the Get Paid dashboard is all it takes to lift the block and reactivate your invoices and payment links.
What happens after you submit your details
Once you submit your details, Melio reviews your account as part of a standard process required by card networks. When the review is complete:
- Your Get Paid account is reactivated.
- All invoices and payment links you previously shared with your customers become active again, there's no need to resend them.
- Payments can resume as normal.
What if some payment methods still aren't working?
After your account is reactivated, most payments resume as normal. Each card network reviews merchant accounts based on its own policies, so in some cases a network may still not approve your account.
- If one or more networks doesn't approve your account, payments from payers using cards on that network won't go through. Payments from payers using other networks and bank transfers aren't affected.
- If no card network approves your account, you'll see this reflected in your account status. You can still log in and access Get Paid, but card payments will be unavailable.
