Melio makes payments simple by allowing you to choose how you pay and how your vendor receives the payment. You can also let your vendor decide how to receive the payments.

Paper check
Regular check
- Comfortable: Choose this payment method if your vendor prefers to get paid with checks. They will receive it within 5-7 business days.
- Secure: Your sensitive details are never written on the check, protecting you from fraud and forgery.

Fast check
- Speed: Fast check arrives within three business days. Vendors who need paper checks can get them 4 days earlier than regular checks, and you avoid late fees.
- Flat rate: No matter the payment's size, it’s always the same fee.

Overnight check
- Speed: An overnight check arrives within one business day. Vendors who need paper checks can get them up to six days earlier than regular checks, and you avoid late fees.
- Flat rate: No matter the payment's size, it’s always the same fee.

ACH bank transfer
Regular ACH transfer
- Free: ACH bank transfers are free for your vendors to receive.
- Direct: The payment will arrive in your vendor’s bank account within 3-5 business days.

Same-day ACH transfer
- Faster delivery: Same-day ACH payments arrive in your vendor’s bank account on the same day. Learn more about how to expedite your ACH transfer in this article.
- Increase your cash flow: Hold onto your cash for three more days.
- Save on fees: The fee is lower than wire transfers or card payments.
Instant ACH transfer
- Instant delivery: Instant ACH payments arrive in your vendor’s bank account within minutes so that you can avoid late fees.
If you don’t see this option when making a payment, it’s unavailable for this payment.
Domestic Wire transfer
Regular Wire transfer
- Vendor compatibility: Pay vendors who exclusively accept wire transfers, ensuring smooth business transactions.

Same-day Wire transfer

- Operational efficiency: Ensures smooth business flow by enabling fast payments and preventing disruptions.
You can select same-day delivery when you pay via your bank account. If you pay via card, this is the default delivery speed.
International payments
International payment in foreign currency
- Pay to foreign vendors in their local currency: Your vendors worldwide will receive an international payment in their local currency directly to their bank account. They don’t need a Melio account to accept payment.

International payment in USD
- Pay to your vendors abroad: Your vendors abroad will receive an international payment directly in USD to their bank account. They don’t even need a Melio account to accept payment.

Single-use virtual card
Your vendor can get a single-use virtual card from us.
- Faster: Vendors can process payments 24/7 using their POS terminal, so they get paid according to their schedule, not bank hours.
- Easier for vendors’ accounting: Cards are sent with complete remittance data—amount, payor, and invoice details. This makes tracking, managing, and reconciling every incoming payment easier.
- More secure: Vendors do not need to expose their bank details. They receive a digital card with a unique 16-digit number that only they can use.
Please note:
- Single-use virtual cards can be chosen only by the vendor.

- The vendor will pay the regular processing fee to run the card through their POS terminal.
Receiving faster payment to a debit card
- Choice: If your vendor needs payment sooner, they can select an option to get it immediately using their debit card.
- Speed up the payment: Once they choose to get paid instantly with their debit card, the payment is processed and delivered to their bank account in up to 30 minutes.
Please note:
- Only the vendor can select this delivery method. They will pay the 1% fee.
- For your vendor to receive this option, you must pay by ACH bank transfer, credit, or debit card and select the delivery method as ACH bank transfer or paper check. They will not receive this option if you pay via wire transfer or send an expedited ACH bank transfer or fast check.
Receiving payments faster to a bank account
- Choice: If your vendor needs payment sooner, they can choose to get it faster to their bank account.

The vendor will have one available choice:
- “Get paid instantly”: The payment can be delivered within minutes.
- “Get paid today”: The payment can be delivered on the same day.
The available options may differ. In some cases, we offer instant delivery, while in others, we offer same-day delivery. Once an option is chosen, the payment is processed and delivered to the vendor’s bank account within the selected timeframe.

- For your vendor to receive this option, you must pay by ACH bank transfer, credit, or debit card and select the delivery method as ACH bank transfer or paper check. They will not receive this option if you send a wire transfer, expedited ACH bank transfer, or fast check.
- The delivery speed may vary from within minutes to same-day delivery, depending on availability at the time of the payment.
