Expedite your payment with same-day Wire transfer

  • Updated

In Melio, we offer regular and same-day domestic wire transfers. If you’re looking to send a wire transfer quickly, same-day domestic wire transfers are the way to go. These transfers are processed and delivered on the same day, so you don’t have to wait the usual 3 days for regular bank transfers.

How to make a same-day Wire transfer

1 - Start making a payment with:

2 - Fill in all the payment details: vendor business name, amount, due date, etc.

3 - When prompted to choose your payment method, select Bank account. Then, select Continue.

If you pay with a card, you cannot select same-day wire transfers because these transfers are delivered on the same day by default.

4 - The Melio calendar will appear. In this calendar, select the date your payment will be sent.

If this is your first payment to this vendor, you must select Wire transfer as the delivery method and provide the vendor’s wire bank details before choosing the payment date. This article explains how to do this.

5 - Under the Melio calendar, select the Same-day transfer option. Then, select Continue.

If this option is inactive, we cannot offer a same-day wire transfer for this payment.

6 - If you need it, add a memo to your vendor. Then, select Continue.

Please note:

  • By default, the invoice number is set as a memo. You can also add a description of the payment.
  • The memo appears in your vendor's email notification and is printed on the check. When delivered via ACH or Wire transfer, it will appear if the vendor's bank supports memos.

7 - Review the payment details. Here, you can double-check that a same-day wire transfer is selected.

If all the details are correct, select Confirm and schedule payment.

If something needs to be changed, you can always return to the previous step by selecting this icon at the top left of the screen.

That’s it. You successfully scheduled a same-day wire transfer.
