How to delete an item from your item catalog

By deleting unused items from your item catalog, you help keep your items list organized, which speeds up invoicing and ensures accuracy.

Deleting an item from the item catalog will not affect any invoices that were created before the deletion. Every change in the item catalog will affect future invoices only.

This article explains how to delete an item in a few simple steps:

1 - Sign in to your Melio account.

2 - Select Settings on the left sidebar. 

3 - In the Get Paid section, select Invoice items.

4 - The list of invoice items will appear on the screen. Find the item you want to delete.

You can use a search bar to find the desired item quickly.

5 - Select a three-dot icon on the right side next to the item you want to delete. 

6 - In the pop-up menu, select Delete.

Tip:

If you just want to change the item details, you can select Edit and change the following:

  • Item name.
  • Item price.
  • Whether the item is taxable by default.

7 - The pop-up window will appear, asking you to confirm the action. 

Before proceeding:

  • Make sure you have selected the correct item. This action is irreversible.
  • You can close this window or select the Cancel button to stop the deletion process.

Select the Delete button to complete the process.

That’s it. You successfully deleted an item. A confirmation message will appear at the top of the Invoice items section.
