Making combined payments: Paying multiple bills to the same vendor as one payment

In Melio, you can combine multiple bill payments to the same vendor into a single payment, up to 20 bills at once. This feature simplifies reconciliation and helps save time and money on transaction fees.

For users subscribed to the Go plan, making batch payments is a premium feature. To enjoy it, start by upgrading your plan.

How to combine payments

1 - From your Pay dashboard, open the Vendors tab.

2 - Find the desired vendor. Select Pay balance on the right side.

3 - If the vendor has more than one bill, a batch payments screen will be opened. Review the bills you want to pay.

At the top right, you can see the total amount and the fees.

4 - To pay all bills to the same vendor in a single payment, toggle Combined payments at the top left of the payments table.

The number of bills included in this payment appears under the vendor’s name.

You can combine up to 20 bills to the same vendor into a single payment.

5 - Choose the following payment parameters:

  • Payment method
  • Delivery method
  • Debit date
  • Delivery speed (if available)

Additionally, you can add a memo to the vendor. Select the three-dot icon next to the amount and select Add memo to vendor from the dropdown list.

6 - Select Confirm and pay at the bottom right to schedule the payment.

That’s it. You successfully scheduled a combined payment.

Vendor’s reconciliation of combined payments

If you send your vendor one payment for multiple bills, it's essential that they receive an invoice breakdown for easy reconciliation.

For any payment delivery method, your vendor will get an email showing a breakdown of all bills that have been paid.

 If you paid your vendor with a check, they’ll get the check along with a breakdown of all bills that have been paid:
