Understanding the program
Does the program cost anything to join?
No. Refer & earn is free to join and use.
Who gets the rewards?
The rewards accrue to your business, regardless of which user shared the link. The link is unique to a Melio account, not to each individual user.
As an accounting firm, can I refer clients I already manage in Melio?
No, you cannot get a reward for the clients you manage the payments for. Only businesses that manage their payments by themselves can become completed referrals.
Is there a limit to how many businesses I can refer?
No, you can share your link with as many businesses as you'd like and earn a reward for each completed referral.

What email address does the referral invitation come from?
The referral invitation comes from service@meliopayments.com.
Can I resend or cancel a referral invitation?
Yes, you can do it from the Refer and earn page. Go to Referral tracker and select a three-dot icon next to the desired business.
What the referred business gets
What does the business I refer receive?
Businesses you refer receive a 15% discount on their subscription when they join.
Is the 15% discount permanent or for a limited time?
The 15% discount applies for 12 months from when the referred business joins.
Earning rewards
How much do I earn per referral?
$300 for each completed referral.
What if the business I referred doesn't reach $500 in payments within 60 days?
That referral expires and doesn't earn a reward. The referred business keeps any standard sign-up benefits they received.
The business I referred already had a Melio account, can they still qualify for a reward?
No. The referred business must sign up as a new Melio registration through your referral link. If they already have an account, they won't be counted as a new registration and the referral won't earn a reward.
Can I see how close a referral is to becoming completed?
You'll see each referral's status: Pending signup, Signed up, Completed, or Expired. However, you cannot see their payment activity. Payment details are kept private to protect the referred business.
My referral shows "Signed up" but has been stuck there for weeks. Is that normal?
Yes. "Signed up" means the business registered through your link and the 60-day window is open. The status will update to "Completed" once they reach $500 in payments, or to "Expired" if the window closes before they do. You can't see their payment activity, so there's no action needed on your end. Just keep an eye on the status.
Why didn’t I get a reward for a completed referral?
The most common reasons are that the referred business didn't reach $500 in completed payments within 60 days, or the signup wasn't a new Melio registration. Review the Refer & Earn: Eligibility requirements to confirm your referral qualifies. If it does and you still haven't received your reward, contact our support team for further assistance.
Getting paid
Do I need to set up my payout account before I start referring?
No. You can share your link and start earning right away. Rewards accrue as referrals become completed, and you can complete the Impact.com setup later to receive everything you've earned.
Who can set up and manage the payout account?
Only Owner and Admins. Other users can share the referral link but won't see the payout setup or management options.
How do I get paid?
You complete a one-time setup that connects your Melio account to Impact.com (Melio's rewards payout partner). After that, rewards are deposited automatically. Learn more about setting up the rewards payout account here.
What is Impact.com and why is it involved?
Impact.com is Melio's referral payout partner. After a one-time setup, it handles depositing your rewards directly to your bank account or PayPal. Melio tracks referrals and qualification; Impact.com manages reward payouts and runs its own risk and fraud checks.
How long does it take to receive my reward?
Rewards are typically deposited within 30–60 days of each completed referral.

Ask them to check their spam or junk folder. If they can't find it, go to your Refer and earn page, find the referral in the tracker, and select Resend referral email. Make sure the email address you entered was correct before resending.
