How to get paid with Melio's mobile app: A beginner's guide

The Melio mobile app makes it easy to get paid on the go. Whether you need to add a new customer or request a payment for a specific invoice, the app gives you the flexibility to manage your incoming payments anytime, anywhere.

This guide is your introduction to getting started with the Get Paid service in the Melio mobile app. You'll learn the key functions and the easiest way to start getting paid. It includes the following:

What can you do in the Melio mobile app?

With the Melio mobile app, you have the power to:

  • Add new customers: Quickly create a customer profile for a business or a consumer.
  • Request a payment for a specific invoice: Send a digital invoice directly to a customer for a quick and easy payment.
  • Share your personal payment link: Generate a unique link or QR code to receive payments from anyone without an invoice.
  • Track your payments: View your entire payment history in the Get Paid Payments tab to see what's pending, what's paid, and what’s overdue.

Getting started: Your first steps

Ready to get started? To get paid for the first time, you'll need to do one of two things:

You can do both of these from the Get Paid screen. Just select the plus icon (+) at the bottom right to get started.

From there, you'll be able to choose your next step: Add a customer or Request payment.

How to add a customer first

If you're a new user, your first step is likely to be adding a customer. This lets you build your network and ensures you have all the necessary details on file.

To add a new customer, just follow these simple steps:

1 - From the Get Paid screen, select the plus icon (+) at the bottom right and choose Add a customer.

2 - Fill in the required information.

4 - Select Add customer at the bottom of the screen.

How to request a payment first

If you already have a customer in mind, you can proceed directly to requesting payment. This will prompt you to either select an existing customer or add a new one.

To get started, simply:

1 - Select the plus icon (+) at the bottom right and choose Request payment.

2 - Select a customer from your list or add a new one on the spot.

3 - Enter the amount and invoice details.

4 - Select Request payment to send the invoice.

5 - Share the invoice with your customer via email or using the QR code.

Share your personal payment link

Want to share a payment link without creating an invoice? You can do that in the Melio mobile app:

1 - Select the QR code icon at the top right of the Get Paid screen. Or select the plus icon (+) at the bottom right of the screen.

2 - Share the payment link or QR code with your customer.

To share a personal payment link, you must first create it.
