The Accountants dashboard is your central hub for efficiently managing client accounts. This article explains the main features of this dashboard. To access it, select Home on the left sidebar.
From here, you can:
- Search for a client using the search bar
- Add a new client with the click of a button
- View your client’s bills and payments
- View pending action items
- Hide or unhide clients to keep your view organized
- Switch to a client’s account to manage their payments and settings
- Edit client details
- Overview of your account activity
- View and manage client details:
Everything you need to manage your client relationships is just a few clicks away.
View your client’s bills and payments
You can view your client bills and payments by following these steps:
1 - Find the desired client.
2 - You’ll see a clickable number in the relevant column if there are any unpaid bills or scheduled payments.
The number of bills or payments shown depends on the selected timeframe in the Overview section of this dashboard. Updating the timeframe will automatically adjust the numbers.
3 - To view the client’s bills: Select the bill number.
To see the client’s scheduled payments: Select the payment number.
Both actions will direct you to the client’s Melio account (Bills or Payments tab accordingly).
Viewing pending action items
If the client has any pending action items, they will appear in the Action Items column. Hover over the icon to view more details.

Hide or unhide the clients
You can decide which clients should be hidden from the main client list.
To hide/unhide the client, follow these steps:
1 - Find the client you want to hide and select a three-dot icon next to it.
2 - From the actions menu, select Hide client.
If the client is already hidden, you will see the Unhide client button instead.
That’s it. This way, you can hide or unhide your clients. To see your hidden clients, switch the “Show hidden clients” toggle.
Editing client details
You can easily edit a client’s details by following these steps:
1 - Find the client you want to hide and select a three-dot icon next to it.
2 - From the actions menu, select Edit client.
3 - You will be directed to your client’s Company settings page, where you can add the details such as contact information, legal information, etc.
Overview of your account activity
There is an Overview section, which is placed above the Clients list.
Here, you can view a summary of your total:
- Bills due
- Payments scheduled
- Action items
You'll also see the percentage increase or decrease for each of these items.
Please note:
- By default, information is displayed for the next 7 days. To view a different timeframe, simply select it from the top right corner of the Overview section.
- Changing the timeframe here will change the number of bills due and scheduled payments shown in the Clients section of this dashboard.
Viewing client information
To view the client details, simply select the client from the Accountants dashboard.
You can see the following information in the Client details window:
- Client name
- Client’s contact person's first and last name
- Action items
- Payments overview
- Billing plan
Additionally, you can perform multiple actions from this window:
- Manage the client’s subscription plan
- Change who pays for the client’s subscription (firm or client)
- View billing history
Managing the client’s subscription
To change the client’s subscription plan between Core, Boost, and Unlimited, follow these steps:
1 - Find the Billing and plan section in the Client details window.
2 - Select a three-dot icon.
3 - From the actions menu, select Manage plan.
4 - You will be directed to the client’s Settings page to upgrade or downgrade the plan.
Viewing billing history
To view the client’s billing history, follow these steps:
1 - Find the Billing and plan section in the Client details window.
2 - Select a three-dot icon.
3 - From the actions menu, select View billing history.
4 - You will be directed to the client’s Settings page. In the Plans section, you can track your client's billing history.
That’s it. You can now efficiently use the Accountants dashboard and perform all the key actions from it.
