You can assign specific clients to your team members to better manage access and control within your firm’s Melio account. This ensures that each team member only sees and manages the clients they’re responsible for.

Assigning clients to an existing team member
Follow these steps to assign or unassign clients for someone already on your team:
1 - Sign in to your firm’s Melio account.
2 - Select Team on the left sidebar.
3 - Find the team member you want to assign clients to.
4 - Select a three-dot icon next to the chosen team member.
5 - Select Manage clients from the actions menu.
6 - A pop-up window will appear with a list of your firm’s clients. Here you can:
- Assign the clients: Check the box next to the clients you want to assign.
- Unassign the clients: Uncheck the box for the clients you want to unassign.
- Set the roles: After checking the box, select an arrow next to the client to choose the appropriate role.

7 - When you’re done, select Save and close.
That’s it. The team member will now have access only to the clients you assigned.
Please note:
- You can view the number of clients assigned to a team member.
- If you hover over the count, you can see client names and the roles assigned.
Assigning clients when adding a new team member
You can also assign clients during the process of adding a new team member to your firm:
1 - Add a new team member to your firm’s Melio account.
2 - After filling in their details, select Continue to assign clients.
3 - A client list will appear. Here you can:
- Assign the clients: Check the box next to the desired clients to assign them to a team member.
- Set the roles: After checking the box, select an arrow on the right side to choose a different role.
- Set the approval workflow: Use the toggle if this team member requires Admin approval.
- Set payment approval limits: Enter the payment amount that should trigger the approval workflow.

7 - Once finished, select Save and close. Your new team member will receive an email invitation that they need to accept.
Please note:
- The team member will appear as “pending” until they accept the invite.
- Once the new team member accepts the invitation, their name will appear like all the others, including the clients they were assigned to. You can now manage their permissions after they have accepted the invite.
- You will also get an email notifying you that they accepted the invitation.
That’s it. You successfully assigned the clients to your new team member.
