Can I send an invoice to an international customer?

  • Updated

Yes, you can send invoices to international customers using Get Paid. However, there are some important considerations regarding payment options for international recipients.

Payment limitations for international customers

Currently, international customers can only pay invoices if they have:

  • A US bank account, or
  • A credit card issued in the United States

Presently, international customers without US banking or credit options will not be able to complete payment through the invoice payment link.

Why you should still send invoices to international customers

Even if your international customers cannot pay directly through the invoice, we recommend creating and sending invoices for the following benefits:

Centralized tracking: Keep all your receivables in one place, making it easier to monitor outstanding payments and track your business finances. This ultimately makes reconciliation much easier.

Professional documentation: Provide your customers with branded, professional invoices that clearly outline payment terms and details.

Easy record keeping: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, regardless of how payment is ultimately received.

Managing payment for international invoices

When your international customer pays you through alternative methods (such as wire transfer, check, or other payment systems), you can easily update your records:

1- Mark the invoice as paid once you receive payment through your preferred method.

2- Add payment details to keep accurate records of how and when you were paid.

This approach ensures you maintain complete visibility over all your receivables while accommodating international customers' payment preferences.
