Are there any limitations when making a payment to an international vendor?

  • Updated

Paying international bills with Melio is super easy and safe. Read this article to learn about the limitations.

Amount limit: No limit on payment amounts

Melio's international payment method doesn't impose any limits on the amount you can send to a global vendor. Whether you need to pay a large invoice or a small fee, Melio's payment system can accommodate it.

However, check your bank's limits.

While Melio doesn't restrict payment amounts, your bank may have its own limits on the amount of money you can transfer internationally. It's important to check with your bank before making an international payment to avoid any setbacks.

Fees: Fee applies

International payments in USD carry a fixed fee of $20, regardless of the payment amount.

When making an international payment with foreign currency, the international processing and conversion fees are already included in the conversion rate. So there are no additional international fees.

However, whether the payment is in USD or foreign currency, other fees unrelated to the international payment, such as payment method fees, may still apply.

Countries: A wide range of options available

You can make international payments to vendors located in Asia-Pacific, Europe, South America and more. Read this article to learn more about what countries are open for international payments.

Payment method: Bank account, Mastercard, or Visa credit card only

International payments are only available when paying via bank transfer, Mastercard, or Visa credit card (2.9% fee). Make sure you select these options as the payment method.
