How do I use Melio to reimburse my employee?
The payment without a bill feature is best for reimbursing your employees.
A few recommendations:
1. Add documentation for the reimbursement.
You can add images of receipts or any other type of documentation reminding yourself what this payment is for. We’ll be able to process the payment much faster if we know what it’s for.
Click the left side of the Bill details page to select the image from your device.
2. Don’t use a credit card to reimburse employees.
Due to possible credit card restrictions, we recommend that you don’t use a credit card to reimburse an employee.
3. Add a memo.
We recommend adding a memo either for yourself or your employee. We’ll be able to process the payment much faster if we know what it’s for.
Here’s how to do it reimburse your employees:
1. Click Pay in the left sidebar.
2. Click + New payment. It appears in the top right corner regardless of which tab you’re in.
3. Enter the reimbursing payment details. Click Continue to pay.
- In Vendor business name, enter the name of your employee.
- In Bill Amount, enter the amount you wish to reimburse them.
4. Continue scheduling the payment as usual.
Can I use Melio for employee payroll?
No, at this time Melio can’t be used for payroll transactions (though freelance and contracted employees are supported). Learn more about what you can pay with Melio.
