How to manage multiple businesses in one Melio account

This article explains how to add multiple businesses to your Melio account, allowing you to manage all your payments from a single dashboard with one simple sign-in.

The Companies dashboard overview

The Companies dashboard is designed for owners who manage several businesses. Once you have more than one company, a Companies button appears on the left-side dashboard.

From this central hub, you can:

  • See a complete list of all companies you have access to.
  • View a real-time payment summary for each business, including pending bills and scheduled payments.
  • Switch instantly between different companies to manage their payments separately.
  • Add new companies to your view.

How to add a new company

Follow these steps if you want to add a business that does not yet have a Melio account:

1 - In your Melio account, select your company name in the top-left corner. 

2 - Select + Add company

3 - Enter the new company’s name, phone number, and address. 

4 - If you are the owner, leave the I'm the company owner box checked and select Continue

If you are not the owner:

1 - Uncheck the I'm the company owner box and select Continue

2 - Submit the owner’s details (name, email, and phone number). 

3 - Select Add company

5 - Melio will invite the business owner via email and grant them the Owner role, while you will automatically be set as an Admin. Learn more about roles and permissions in Melio.

How to add an existing Melio account

If you already manage multiple Melio accounts using different email addresses, you can link them to see them all in one place.

1 - In your primary Melio account, select your company name in the top-left corner and select + Add company

2 - Enter the name, phone number, and address of the existing company you wish to add. 

3 - Uncheck the box ‘I’m the company owner, and select Continue

This step is required to link an existing account. If you leave it checked, Melio will create a brand new, unlinked account instead. 

4 - Enter the owner's details. 

❗Important: You must use the exact email address associated with the existing Melio account you are adding. 

5 - Select Add company

6 - A pop-up will notify you that the email is already in use. Select Request to join

7 - An email request will be sent to that address. Once the owner (or you, if it is your other account) accepts the invitation via email, the company will appear in your Companies dashboard. 

💡Tip: You can achieve the same result by logging into the account you want to add and adding your primary email address as an Admin. Learn more about adding new users and assigning the roles in this guide.
