Using an American Express card to pay a vendor requires a few extra steps. You can only pay vendors that belong to an American Express pre-approved industry. You can find a complete list of these industries in our guide.
You’ll also need to provide your vendor’s information:
- Industry category and sub-category
- Phone number
- Address
Please note:
- You won’t be able to continue without completing all fields.
- You’ll only need to complete these details once per vendor.
- If your vendor's industry is not on the permitted industries list, you won't be able to use your American Express card for the payment. In this case, you can use an alternative payment method, such as a different credit card or a bank account.
