Making payments using your American Express credit card in the Melio App

For payments made with an American Express credit card, you can only pay vendors from the American Express list of pre-approved industries: 

• Education
• Government
• Utilities
• Professional Services
• Business Services
• Inventory/ Wholesale
• Construction/ Logistics
• Others (includes Membership Club, Real Estate Agents & Managers - Rental, and Utilities)

You’ll also need to provide your vendor’s email, phone number and address.

Choose your vendor’s industry and add their email, phone number and address

1. When you select to pay with your American Express credit card, you’ll be asked to choose your vendor’s industry from the above list. 
2. Select a sub-category. 
3. Add Vendor’s email.
4. Add Vendor’s phone number.
5. Tap Vendor's address to start searching for your vendor's address.
6. Confirm the details in the address and tap Save and continue.

Important notes: Making payments using an AMEX credit card 

• You won’t be able to continue without completing all fields.
• You’ll only need to complete the industry and address once per vendor. 
• We won’t ask you to select your own industry.
• If your vendor's industry is not on the permitted industries list, you can't complete the payment with American Express. You can choose an alternative payment method - either a non-American Express card or bank transfer (ACH).
