How can I track an ACH payment?

  • Updated

When you make a payment via ACH bank transfer with Melio, it gets a NACHA (National Automated Clearinghouse Association) trace number.

The trace number can be up to 15 digits and is provided by the funding bank to identify the payment.

You can give the NACHA trace number to your vendor as proof of payment. It also assures you that the NACHA scheme has managed your payment.

Both payors and vendors can use the trace number to track and find the payment. You can present the NACHA to the receiving bank to locate the payment if needed.

This article explains how to find the trace number in your Melio account.

How to find your NACHA trace number

Follow these steps to find the trace number:

1 - From the Pay dashboard, select the Payments tab.

2 - Locate and select the desired payment in the payment list. It should be in Paid status.

3 - The Payment and bill details window will open. Scroll down to the Delivery method section.

4 - The trace number appears under the vendor’s bank account details.

That’s it. You successfully found the trace number, which can be used to check the status of the ACH transfer with the banks.
