How can I track an ACH payment?

  • Updated

When you make a payment via ACH bank transfer with Melio, it receives a NACHA trace number - a unique identifier that allows you and your vendor to track the payment through your banks. Think of it as a transaction confirmation number.

What you need to know about trace numbers:

  • Up to 15 digits long
  • Available only after the payment has been delivered to the vendor's bank account
  • Can be shared with vendors as proof of payment
  • The vendor can use it to track the payment with their bank.

How to find your NACHA trace number:

1- Go to the Payments tab - From your Pay dashboard, select the Payments tab

2- Find your completed payment - Locate the payment you need (it must show Paid status)

3- Open payment details - Click on the payment to open the Payment and bill details window

4- Locate the trace number - Scroll down to the Delivery method section. You'll find the trace number listed under the vendor's bank account details.

That’s it. You successfully found the trace number, which you can share with your vendor or use to check the payment status with your bank.
